Let me preface this by saying that this is simply an interesting thought experiment, not an assumption or a prediction.

Let’s assume that the “woo” is real in regards to the phenomenon, meaning that these craft have some connection to human/universal consciousness. That must entail that there is some sort of spiritual power, perhaps through undocumented forces of the universe, waves, or some other means. Not necessarily a “creator”, but a binding force.

Now pretend that you’re the US government, or any government on earth for that matter. You discover technology from another more advanced species that can tap into this energy, and learn that a) consciousness/spiritual energy exists, and b) consciousness is a measurable force. Seeing how energy can be neither created nor destroyed, this must mean that this spiritual energy never truly “dies”, it is just “reborn”. This implies an afterlife, and a pretty good one at that.

Would you tell the global population that there’s a good afterlife? Or would that cause a large number of people to attempt to be reborn?
